Budget Analyst

This position is in the Budget Division, within the Chief Financial Officer Directorate (CFO) located at Glynco, Georgia. This position services as a Budget Analyst responsible for providing senior budgetary and staff assistance on budget formulation and execution matters as they relate to the support of the FLETC. Typical assignments include:
Formulating, developing, monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing the Operations & Support (O&S) and Procurement, Constructions and Improvements (PC&I) appropriations by fund for the FLETC. Performing an assortment of analyses and studies related to the budget process; and developing methods to measure flow, efficiencies, deficiencies, and trends that impact on resources utilizing a wide range of historical and current funding data. Compiling narrative and statistical information concerning the budget and other cost-related information to be used in briefing top agency officials, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and Congressional Committees. Providing advice and assistance to management officials with regard to the budget formulation and execution process. Providing analytical services to support formulation, justification, presentation, enactment, and execution stages of the budget process for an agency. Monitoring spending activities in various offices/divisions. Reviewing and assigning appropriate fund and sub-object classification by assigning classification codes and certifying the availability of funds for obligation. Coordinating with various offices/divisions and participating organizations to resolve problems in relation to budgeting and financial systems. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing expert advice to management officials and program managers as it relates to budget analysis and/or financial management utilizing a variety of automated financial management/accounting systems, spreadsheets, and databases. Time-in-Grade:
Current FLETC GS employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
