Supervisory IT Specialist (Policy Planning / Information Security)

Serving as the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) and a Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) makes you a valuable member of the FLETC team and mission. This position is within the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Directorate and located in Glynco, Georgia. Typical assignments include:
Serving as the principal analyst and expert technical advisor to the CIO and directly responsible for the oversight of multiple divisions tasked with facilitating the planning, acquisition, and delivery of information technology (IT) services, cybersecurity services, accessibility services, information resource management services, and IT acquisition services for the component's geographically-dispersed enterprise. Developing and implementing procedures and internal controls; managing the assignment of work; approving and certifying payroll activities; approving training and travel requests, and resolving grievances and complaints. Providing executive leadership and oversight for the component's enterprise-wide cybersecurity program. Managing the component's enterprise-wide operational IT service support and delivery functions and activities. Providing leadership and oversight for component's Enterprise Architecture program. Providing leadership and oversight of IT programs and initiatives which significantly contribute to the success of the organization. Providing executive leadership and oversight for the Information Resources Management (IRM) program, which is comprised of a number of component enterprise-wide programs that must be closely coordinated and integrated with each of the other programs, the various component IT programs, all component lines of business, and the corresponding departmental programs. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade in the federal service providing supervision, leadership and/or managing infrastructure and IT services for a multi-location enterprise; and serving as a principle analyst and expert technical advisor to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) or equivalent executive position. Time-in-Grade:
Current and former federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-14 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
