Training Instructor

This Training Instructor position is located in the Office of Training and Development, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
o Assists in creation of realistic training scenarios for inclusion in Instructor, and student lesson plans to enhance curriculum, training tools, and course content. Participates in and/or lead training courses, workshops, seminars, and conferences. o Assists in providing oversight and guidance for the preparation of training, curricula, and supporting documentation for instructor-led, online, and blended learning programs. o Assists in developing and managing strategic plan and budget for assigned program areas and analyzes information on program deficiencies, evaluates alternative methods for resolution, and present recommendations to stakeholders; interprets policy guidance and provides assistance to managers and employees on applying policy guidance to assigned program areas. o Applies survey principles and data analysis to determine training program strengths and weaknesses in the implementation of evaluation model(s) adopted by TSA. o Assists in the assessment and validation of complex agency training needs through activities such as analyses of organizational performance data, consulting with senior officials and subject matter experts, and by conducting in-depth surveys, interviews, and focus groups with employees and instructors. The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, the lower pay band (H Band) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex. It is anticipated that all TSA Headquarters personnel within the Washington, DC metropolitan area will begin relocating to Springfield, Virginia beginning Summer 2020. If you are selected for a Headquarters position currently located in this region, your duty location will change due to the TSA Headquarters Consolidation Plan. To qualify for the SV-H Pay Band(equivalent to GS-12), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-G or GS-11 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
Analyzing a training program to provide insight and make recommendations on how to improve training methods and curricula; and Assessing training needs through in depth training evaluation methodologies and applying knowledge of adult learning principles to address training needs; and Preparing and/or developing training course materials, aids, devices. To qualify for the SV-I Pay Band (equivalent to GS-13), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-H or GS-12 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
Managing or administering a training program; and Analyzing a training program to provide insight and make recommendations on how to improve training methods and curricula; and Assessing training needs through in depth training evaluation methodologies and applying knowledge of adult learning principles to address training needs; and Preparing and/or developing training course materials, aids, devices. Note:
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
