Facilities Services Assistant (Office Automation)

Serving as a Facilities Services Assistant makes you a valuable member of the FLETC team and mission. This position is located in the Facilities Management Division, within the Mission Readiness and Support Directorate. You will performs specialized duties with continuing responsibility for processes, projects, questions, or problems within the Facilities Management Division.Typical assignments include:
Performing preliminary analysis of information gathered on a specific project or assignment to facilitate more in-depth analysis by higher-level personnel. Assisting with operation of the Trouble Desk and the receipt and/or processing of trouble calls for immediate/quick-turn resolution. Assisting branch or division manager, and/or mechanics, technicians, staff, and others by performing a defined segment of their work either as a completed action or as a foundation for further operations. Preparing routine reports or portions of large reports through research, compiling and assembling materials, composing narrative and statistical input, and preparing a variety of accompanying documents such as graphs, tables, etc. Performing all administrative functions associated with office management. Performing duties as assigned such as maintaining the automated Time and Attendance timekeeping system and maintaining a government Purchase Card, responsible for branch and division transactions allowed by purchase card governance. Receiving and responding to telephone calls, maintaining office files, preparing standard office forms, requisitioning supply and office services, etc. Operating various office equipment, machines, and systems; remaining up-to-date with changing office environments and concepts. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you posses the following:
Type at least 40 words per minute. AND You possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal service maintaining data files for design, construction, maintenance and/or repair of physical facilities; and experience preparing routine reports; composing narrative and statistical input; responding to general and specific technical inquiries; and/or tracking and adjusting work orders. OR As a general rule, education is not creditable; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. You must provide a copy of your transcripts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
