Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support/Security)

Being an Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support/Security) makes you a valuable member of the FLETC team. This position is within the Training Content and Development Branch, E-Learning and Innovation Division, under the Training Management Operations Directorate, and located in Glynco, Georgia. You will be responsible for providing oversight and leadership for cloud-based IT systems, functions, integrations and services in support of law enforcement training programs for the component's online learning systems. Typical assignments include:
Supporting the implementation, development, and use of training and provide IT customer support, technical advice, guidance, and recommendations. Leading the organization to integrate the eFLETC with other agency systems including designing, planning, coordinating, securing, documenting, monitoring, executing and managing. Using automated systems including, but not limited to learning management systems and other systems in the e-FLETC learning ecosystem. Serving as an administrator and administrator support to those systems and providing customer support. Providing IT Security Education, Training, and Awareness briefings of Federal IT systems and resources, as necessary Preparing reports and presentations, as needed. Managing and tracking documentation related External Information System (EIS), including, but not limited to Authority to Operate (ATO), Federal Information and Information Systems (FIPS) 199/ Federal Information Security Management Act Categorization (FISMA), etc. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. For this position individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Experience:
You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing Information Technology (IT) security monitoring, incident reporting, system scanning, security control verification, providing customer service, analyzing and requirements gathering, acquisition, design, development, testing and implementation of software applications and databases. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel Management must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
