Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems)

This position is within the Workforce Support Branch (WSB), under the Human Capital Office (HCO), within the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD), and located in Glynco, Georgia. HCO is responsible for providing management and advisory services regarding recruitment, retention, recognition, engagement, and benefits for employees at the FLETC-Glynco, GA; FLETC-Washington Office; FLETC-Artesia, NM; FLETC-Charleston, SC; and FLETC-Cheltenham, MD. This position serves as a Human Resources Assistant (Information Systems) responsible for providing support for personnel-related programs; processing various personnel actions, including Time and Attendance (T&A); conducting research and providing technical support to employees and officials related to T&A; processing personnel actions; and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of the various program assignments. Typical assignments include:
Providing information systems support and processing T&A data in an automated system; ensuring the accuracy of automated T&A systems data. Consulting with stakeholders to rectify T&A inconsistences and/or make recommendations on resolving T&A errors. Assisting with providing training and technical guidance on the use of the T&A processing system to employees. Performing routine leave audits and preparing associated reports; maintaining files and records on related T&A and personnel/payroll programs. Processing a variety of personnel actions into automated personnel/payroll systems; reviewing data output for accuracy, researching and correcting errors. Maintaining electronic-Official Personnel Files which includes filing, purging, auditing records, and requesting files from other human resources offices or archive centers. Assisting with the coordination of new-employee orientations. Responding to various questions regarding personnel processing procedures received from management, staff and members of the public. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify at the GS-06 level:
Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing HR functions to include processing a variety of personnel actions; researching and responding to inquiries pertaining to Time and Attendance (T&A).-OR- As a general rule, education is not creditable at this grade level, however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. Must provide a copy of your college transcripts. Time-in-grade:
Current and former federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify at the GS-07 level:
Your resume must demonstrate that you have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing information systems support for human resources related programs; processing a variety of personnel actions including Time and Attendance (T&A) in automated information systems; conducting research and providing technical support to management and employees related to T&A and the processing of personnel actions.-OR- As a general rule, education is not creditable at this grade level, however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. Current and former federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel Management must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. If this position is filled at the GS-06 grade level, you may be non-competitively promoted without further competition when the supervisor determines that the duties of the higher grade level are being performed and all regulatory requirements have been met. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated in an office setting. The work environment involves everyday risks of discomforts that require normal safety precautions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
