You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National. You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI). You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. This Program Assistant position is located at the TSA Training Academy in Glynco, Georgia, in the Security Operations Training Division, within the Office of Training and Workforce Engagement (OTWE), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will be reporting directly to the TSA Training Academy Branch Manager and will provide time sensitive and critical assistance to the managers and other Academy professional staff to perform a wide range of clerical and administrative activities (e.g., making arrangements for meetings, conferences, and workshops; typing correspondence; maintaining office files; managing Incoming and outgoing mail; preparing travel documentation; coordinating conference room scheduling; and arranging for teleconferencing). Typical assisgnments include but are not limited to:
Inputting data and maintaining a high degree of accuracy for all manual, automated database, and electronic office files and records, ensuring consistency with Privacy Act or other regulatory requirements.
Researching administrative and clerical policies and procedures, and providing Information to all levels of the organization.
Evaluating the effectiveness of clerical processes and procedures, and providing information to staff and senior analysts/supervisors/managers in a variety of studies and reports, including recommendations for improvements when appropriate.
Working under the guidance of senior staff to purchase required agency supplies, monitoring inventory, and distributing supplies to the TSA Training Academy staff.
The major duties described above reflect the full performance level of this position. Typically, the lower pay band (E Band) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training and work assignments may be less complex.

To qualify at the SV-E Pay Band (equivalent to GS-7/8), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-D Pay Band or GS-6 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes assisting with applying records management practices; coordinating, and accomplishing multiple and varying assignments (i.e., arrangements for meetings/conferences, preparing travel documentation, or performing time and attendance responsibilities); or utilizing software applications or automated systems to complete assignments (i.e., creating spreadsheets, entering records, or producing documentation).
To qualify at the SV-F Pay Band (equivalent to GS-9-10), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-E Pay Band or GS-8 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes safeguarding records and ensuring compliance with applicable records management guidance; or planning, coordinating, and accomplishing multiple and varying assignments (i.e., arrangements for meetings/conferences, preparing travel documentation, or performing time and attendance responsibilities).
NOTE: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
