As a Coding Specialist in our Medical Records department, you will accurately assigns ICD-10-CM, CPT code, APC's, and DRG's to all applicable patient encounters and actively participates in the clinical documentation improvement program. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with our patients, guests, and other team members by striving for excellence in service and quality. You will be responsible for:


  • Identifying and coding all patient discharges, maintaining a 96% accuracy rate.
  • Understanding policies, procedures and federal guidelines that apply directly to coding and other work performed in the Medical Records Department - Coding Clinics AHA and the CPT Assistant AMA
  • Monitoring the accounts not selected for billing report to avoid inappropriate delays in coding.
  • Communicating current and revised coding changes and clarifications to ancillary departments and Medical Staff members.
  • Completing physician queries in accordance to the AHIMA physician query standards
  • Reviewing all CDI concurrent reviews prior to the release of inpatient accounts for billing.
  • Reviewing injection, infusion, OPS, and ER charges for accuracy while assigning codes for billing.
  • Adhering to the requirements of the Centers of Medicaid & Medicare Services and other regulatory agencies.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
