Chief Financial Officer

JOB SUMMARY The CFO at MAP is expected to a stratregic thinker with a hands on approach to assisting the CEO in leading the organization.
The CFO must also be have strong analystical, organizational and time management skills.
You will lead all aspects of MAP's financial functions including the daily operations.
You will also patner with the rest of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we meet all of the pertinent laws and regulations.
The CFO will lead a variety of financial responsibilities including oversight to all financial controls and procedures, provide financial reporting to multiple constituants, provide coordination for the Brunswick Teams and overall facility management, and insure that MAP's assets are safeguarded.
The CFO will also, direct the organizations overall financial planning and account practices, direct annual financial audits for all MAP Office locations, direct MAP's relationship with lending institutions, and the financial community by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFINANCIAL LEADERSHIP Provides overall financial leadership to MAP International.
Coordinates the development and implementation of sound budgeting practices, policies and processes.
Work closely with the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committees to keep the organization aligned with the Board Policies and maintain sound financial practices.
Create, review and adjust (as necessary) all financial controls and procedures with proper approval from the CEO and Finance and/or Audit Committees.
Work with the CEO on strategic planning and organizational's rolling 3 year plan.
Augment Sr.
Leadership Team decision making with financial analysis and insight to inform strategic planning and execution.
Work with other Senior Leadership Team members to ensure proper controls and meeting of budgets.
Appraises the organization's financial position and issues monthly reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations.
Establishes and maintains relationships with banking, financial institutions, and the investment community.
Evaluates and recommends business partnership relationships and opportunities.
Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for the organization.
Provides financial management and leadership to department heads, staff, and the Board of Directors for MAP.
Provides oversight in conjunction with other Senior Leadership Team members for the Brunswick Teams and overall facility management.
Present in both MAP offices (Brunswick and Atlanta) to provide leadership and support to Atlanta employees.
Represent MAP in the communities that are local to MAP offices (Brunswick and Atlanta) by networking with other Financial Executives and community leaders.
FISCAL MANAGEMENT Provides financial leadership and oversight of MAP's fiscal management.
Directs the Finance Team in providing and developing procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, and real estate activities for the organization.
Directs the treasury activities such as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.
Coordinates reporting of Form 990 and other annual state tax and informational returns and investment management activities.
Manages the preparation of annual financial audits and serve as primary contact regarding accounting and auditing policy for all MAP Offices.
Stays abreast of changes to federal and state banking laws and regulations affecting the management, operations, and product offerings of the establishment.
MANAGEMENT SUPPORT Balance the needs of multiple departments by providing guidance and leadership in setting consistent standards for internal financial management of donations.
Informs and advises management of conditions and status of establishment adherence to laws and regulations.
Recommends changes to MAP's management and the Board of Directors for any existing or proposed new program and activity, as warranted.
Provides direction for the preparation and issuance of MAP's annual financial report.
Examines and establishes financial policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
Maintains relationships with Insurance Brokers and advises management concerning insurance coverage for property, casualty and other potential liability issues.
Supports, Encourages and holds Accountable, to MAP's goals and objectives, members of Finance and Management in general.
Assists management in supporting MAP's Mission, Vision, Guiding Principles, and overall goals and objectives.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and determines their financial impact.
Prepare summary reports which forecasts the organization's ministry activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
TEAM DEVELOPMENT Responsible for and ensures the development of all individuals within the Finance Team Responsible for setting departmental and direct reports' annual goals and aligning quarterly priorities.
Holds regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports as well as weekly team meetings.
Attends monthly MAP staff meetings.
Participates in company led MAP Team development activity.
Provide clear direction, expectations, and feedback for direct reports and all Finance team members.
Regularly asseses current and future workforce needs of the Finance Team to ensure that the needs of the organization are met.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Member of MAP's Senior Leadership Team and participant in regular SLT Meetings.
Oversee the valuation of gift in kind donations to ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
Provide assistance to Finance team as needed for backup and general support.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadsthe Finance Team and directly supervises the Director, Internal Compliance and the Sr.
Manager, Accounting Systems.
Directly responsible for a total budget of the entire organization and directly responsible for the budget of the Finance department budget.
Responsibilities include interviewing, training, skills development; planning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSThis position interacts internally on a regular basis with the President, MAP Team Leaders, MAP staff, MAP's International Board Treasurer, Chair and members of the Audit and Finance Committee.
Externally this position interacts with MAP's auditors, Brokers for health and general liability insurance, Bankers, in-house council and outside legal advisors, 401k Broker, investment managers, various watchdog organizations and various other outside firms and organizations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.
S.
) or equivalent combination of education and experience Master's degree (M.
A) preferable Fifteen or more years of related experience with 10 or more years working at a senior level.
CPA certification and auditing experience, required.
10 or more years of experience managing employees and/or a team.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Demonstrated success of leading an organization's financial systems, teams, and managing to strategic plans.
